Can I use Windows Vista 32bit serial on 64bit Windows Vista

I recently bought a copy of Windows Vista 32 bit edition, but now I want to upgrade the RAM on my machine to 4 gb and therefore I want to upgrade to a 64 bit operating system. So can I use my Vista 32 bit serial key for Windows Vista 64 bit OS, or will I have to buy a new Windows Vista 64bit OS? Thank you

Yes the same serial key will work for 32 bit or 64 bit. If you have previously activated the 32 bit then you may have to make a phone to microsoft to activate the 64 bit install.

Some distributions of Vista come as both 32bit/64bit. However, unless you were explicitly given the 64 bit key, you'll have to actually request the key from Microsoft. Usually, it's free of charge; just demand the 64 bit key, as you purchased the 32/64bit version, and therefore deserve the 64 bit key.
