Windows 7 get freeze on Shutdown

in windows 7 whenever i shut down or restart it didnt shut down that quickly as previously also some times it get freeze while shutdown and after long time it responds.the Start button doesn't do anything, neither does Windows Explorer or Task Manager.

during the shut down period it show 1 seconds of a purple background and a whole lot of writing and texts showing before the computer completely shut down.Is anyone getting shutdown problems with Windows 7.please can any one help me to work it better. t

I think problem is IPv4 that it is still in wide use and your network adapter is trying to establish a IPv6 connection. IPv6 will eventually replace IPv4 because IPv4 is soon to run out of possible addresses.

I may be totally off with this reasoning. Drivers are most likely the cause. Hardware manufacturers are expected to provide tested and approved Windows 7 drivers for their hardware. If they don't the hardware may not work also some driver which may provide help.

To check if a particular program is slowing the machine when you switch on or shut down, e.g. an antivirus program, go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Performance Information and Tools > Advanced Tools (in the left pane). On this screen the problem is sometimes shown. If not, click View Performance Details in Event Log (Event Viewer). Events in the 100 series are boot events and I believe those in the 200 series are shut down events. These can be followed up by double-clicking them, then clicking Event Log Online at the bottom.

cause of slow system shut downs is that Windows contains an option to erase the system’s virtual memory and system hibernation cache at shut down. These security features are disabled by default because they take a long time to complete, and cause the system shutdown to look like it has frozen. Although these features are disabled by default, some privacy software will enable it.

To determine whether or not these features are enabled on your PC, enter the GPEDIT.MSC command at the Run prompt to load the Group Policy Editor. Now, navigate through the console tree to Computer Configuration | Windows Settings | Security Settings | Local Policies | Security Options. At this point, locate the Shutdown: Clear Virtual Memory Pagefile option in the column to the right and verify that it is disabled, as shown in Figure C. If this option is enabled, you can disable it by double clicking on the setting and choosing the Disabled option.
