Windows Vista includes a free tool for automatic data backup. This tool allows to back up: Pictures, Videos, Music, Mail, Documents, or compressed files ...
- First, do Start, then All Programs, click Accessories, System Tools and finally click on Status and configuration backup. A window status and configuration of the backup "opens.
- Click Restore files. Click on Advanced Restoration.
- The "Restore Files" opens, you can restore files from the computer in question (or last previous backup) or another computer. Select the type of meal you want, and that.
- You can then choose to restore only certain files or folders to backup or restore of all (if you want to restore the entire backup check box Restore the entire contents of the backup). Then click Next.
- Note that you have a search function that will perform a quick search of a file or folder in the backup.
- Finally, you can choose to restore files to their original location or in a specific location. Finish the procedure by clicking Start Restore.
- Once the transaction files will be restored to the position you want. The restore operation may take more or less time depending on the volume of files to restore.
what happens when you open backup.1.exe? Do you get an error message? You could also try opening backup.1.exe in Safe Mode.
