Sounds like your drive is going bad. Before you do anything, backup any files that is important to you.
Once a drive starts getting errors then it normally becomes useless. It may run a day or so. I would advise that you can still use it but be sure to keep backups or install it as a slave so nothing critical can run on it.
One thing you can try is to do a scan disk with some diagnostic tools and let it fix errors.
Theres could be other possible solutions - like doing a low level format but its risky. I really do not advise doing it. Someone else may have other advise.
1. Open "Task Manager" and select DFDwiz.exe (if running) and click on End Process.
2. Open "system32" directory, take ownership of DFDwiz.exe
3. Install software like TuneUp Utilities
4. Use the TuneUp shredder to delete that file
5. Restart your system
I was also having the exact same problem. I was not experiencing any performance problems, however, my previous installation of Windows XP Pro didn't gave me any related problems.
To be more specific, just get rid of the problem, i.e. change your HDD
