Windows Vista Update Generated ntoskrnl.exe error

I use Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit on my desktop. Since few weeks windows notifyies me to download critical updates. Whenever i update Vista, it reboots and then tries to configure the downloaded updates, now after it finishes configuring a window pops up saying boot failed and now will try to repair the problem. After tryin to repair the problem it prompts with boot option. I checked the problem diagnostic report and found "Boot Critical C:\ntoskrnl.exe is corrupt" Now whenever i start my computer after the event of failed updates, windows go through the same procedure of repairing boot. now my iTunes don't work, McAffee shows me error everytime and doesn't update. I re-installed iTunes andd now it works well but still can't fix McAffee. Now don't want to let windows download any updates. But i need to download the updates manually. Anyway through?? Or i need to re-install Vista??

You can run Windows Update manually and see which updates are pending That might be a driver update that is not getting installed correctly, Try to manually install the previous driver that you had install before the update.

Thats the reason why it says "Do Not Turn Computer Off" While configuring updates, just let it finish next time.

    -OR-

Try to Repair Install Vista This will allow you to repair your Vista installation and keep all of your personal user account files, settings, and programs. You will be performing a Upgrade Install from within your currently running Vista.
