Change Windows 7 product key

hi i have installed windows 7 latest and its working fine but yesterday i read this " beta version Windows 7 has time bases expiry and it will expiry on 1st august 2009. well if you you lookout there are six more months to go for windows 7 beta 1 to expiry ", which is ok to enjoy windows 7. after this i think about changing product key of windows 7 but don’t found how to do it so please if any one know can tell me how to do it .thank you

Change windows 7 Product key

1. Right Click on My Computer and Select Properties.

2. Wait a second for windows activation details to get populated.

3. Click on Change Product key link after your Windows 7 activation details are populated.

4. Enter New Product Key and click on next to activate your windows 7

• Click on Windows 7 Start Button
• Go to All Programs-> Accessories
• Now right on Command Prompt and select “Run as Administrator” from context menu.
• This should bring elevated command prompt mode with full Administrators rights

2. Now type following command

“slmgr.vbs -ipk <insert your new product key here>”

3. To activate windows after changing the key, run “slmgr.vbs -ato”

You can only use a product key number for the same Windows 7 edition that you currently have installed. Windows 7 allows you to change the product key (or sometimes called serial number) of the product, even once you have already fully installed Windows. This can be useful if you buy a new license and need to swap keys. In order to activate your new key, you need to click on start and then need to type command (cmd) with run as administrator option or check how to open elevated command prompt. Then you need to type the following command: “slmgr.vbs -ipk <insert your new product key here>”. After that to activate windows after changing the key, run “slmgr.vbs -ato”

This doesn´t work here...
It says: ´slmgr´ is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

windows 7 is a new os and it is not compatible with old softwares and drivers... b4 installing please be sure of this...

hi you cant change the serial key even if you do you will have six months left and you will have to buy a new version of windows 7 and reinstall it as you didnt actully think you were getting a free copy of windows did you?
