    hi,
i had also same problem, tried reinstalling everything again, did a full update straight out this time and it worked fine. Everything is running better than before now but it still has delays and loading times which I wouldn't expect a computer of my specs to have. ie. Alt Tabbing from desktop/msn to Firefox has a 1 second or so delay, opening any explorer window takes about 2 seconds, booting up takes a good 5 minutes. If this what the 64bit OS is like, I think I'd be best using XP32 and just sticking with 2gb of RAM rather than 4.

The same problem I boot with XP x64 on my laptop. The reach of the desktop on all the time 6-7 minutes (Pentium Dual-Core T3200 [2 * 2.0 Ghz], 4GB RAM, GeForce 9300M-GS, 320GB HDD).
The more I can tell you that this is incompatible or in "bad" drivers are.
I presume that it strongly to any drivers is expected to make the system does not taste it. It's best to try older drivers for the components assembled in the system to be tested. In addition, I recommend that the memory settings in Windows to adapt.

    hi,
Try to install the Latest BIOS and Device Drivers.
Make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for all of your devices and BIOS version for your motherboard. Check at the device's website for them. Be sure to have the correct versions for your 32 bit or 64 bit Vista.
