NO Keyboard or Mouse support at startup

While trying to get USB 2.0 going on my old A8N-SLI Premoum motherboard, I deleted all the USB controllers and HUBS from the device manager.

Before doing this, I reinstalled the chipset drivers, hoping this would fix the issue. All it did was cause the Windows XP activation alert to come up, which I ignored.

Now when I start my computer before it enters windows, the dialog box comes up asking me if I want to activate windows and that I three days to do so.

However, with Windows not loading the USB controllers, neither mouse or keyboard work so I cannot select "No" on the activation dialog box.....windows just stays at that screen.

I have tried to use an adapter to convert my mouse from USB to PS/2, but that doesn't work either. I've checked my BIOS (even loaded defaults) and nothing worked. It seems PS/2 support is not working.
I've tried using Safe Mode, but then I have to select a person to log in with, but of course, I cannot do that with both mouse and keyboard not working.

    I'm out of ideas.

Try repairing your windows xp installation. repair will not take much time. and its self healing I would say... Its worth giving a try.
