    Dual-boot XP / Linux

I just bought a second hard drive. The first, Windows XP is installed, and I installed Linux on the second. At startup, I have the choice between the two. However, I automatically start on XP, because this is not my computer and people who use it to use XP. All this to say that I would like to change the boot order, since I have 15 seconds to select with the arrows on what I want to start. If I do nothing, it boots Linux, since it is the first in the list. I would therefore like to change the first of lsite or better boot directly to XP.

I walk in the BIOS, but I did not find out how. Thank you for help if you know how.

    Hello,

You must edit the file / boot / grub / menu.lst since linux (if using Grub)
There is a default or x x is a number between 0 and the number of entries - 1.
You should change this line according to the position of Windows in the list.

    Example:
    title Linux ...

    title Linux ...

    title Windows

then to launch Windows default is to save default 2
You can also reduce the waiting time to start automatically.

At worst if you want to delete all of this, you take a Windows XP CD, you start the Recovery Console and you tapes: fixmbr

    Re: Dual-boot XP / Linux

I found what you asked me to change, I just can not save the file, because I do not have permission. Yet, I have created only one account, it is therefore necessarily administrator? Who would have rights, if not me? I saw before me logger, I can choose the type of session: Default, KDE, or Failsafe. I tried the first two and I have no permission. Do you know how I should proceed?
