In the date/time options, check whether the box is checked to automatically adjust for daylight savings time changes. If the box is marked, you may have to do something like uncheck the box, save the settings, re-check the box, set the time, and save the settings again to get your time setting to behave itself

your time will be automatically updated from the Web. Double click on the time in the bottom right corner. This will bring up Date and Time Properties. Check you are in the correct Time Zone (London for example) and Automatically change for daylight saving is checked. Then you can look at where your PC gets its time from in Internet Time. You can disable those updates if you wish.

It is my understanding that XP does not update time info. You can pick a time zone and tell it that daylight savings time is in effect. To keep accurate time you can use a third party program like Atomic clock
