vista setup problem due to sata harddrive

Hi there, I have been having trouble and trying to work this out since january and is driving me nuts now, ive tried almost everything that i can think of.
i have 2 320 gb sata hard drives and a 80 gb harddrive. i wish to install windows vista ultimate on either of the 320 gb harddrives. i have the correct drivers for the load driver screen and when i try to do that. I select the driver then still no 320 gb hard drives appear. i have that driver genius program so even tried with the latest drivers off there with no luck

    i have gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R with q6600 @2.4 4gb ram

If someone can help with my misery that would be awsome as i dont want the 80gb hard drive in my machine
    Thanks Shane

There are no warning messages, just wont detect the sata hard drives even after loading the drivers required

So when you dont put the VIsta CD ... harddisk is detected and as soon as you put vista CD you are not able to detect hard disk ......
Or vista is already installed but its not able to detect the OS on SATA .

Re: vista setup problem due to sata harddrive

I currently have vista installed on my 80gb, once in windows my 2 sata drives work perfectly, i just want to be able to install vista on one of my 320 gb sata drives so that i can remove the 80gb altogether. vista setup just cant find them even after loading the driver for sata.
    thanks.

Try using another SATA port - it may be a dodgy connection on your motherboard or A hi-quality sata cable with locking latches or even BIOS update.

I had the same problem, i put the sata "MotherBoard drivers " on a USB pen and installed that way.. worked beautiful.
