    help with sound..?

Hi there, I don't know if I'm posting in the right spot so if I'm not, please forgive me but for some reason my sound is not working on my HP vs17e computer but it does work when I plug my headphones in, which are just regular headphones I believe (they are called dynex) ...So I was really hoping that someone could help me out? I'm not good with this kind of stuff.. any help would be awesome! thank you..

    Hi amdeb
As you said your sound is working while you use your headphone so surely there is some problem with your speakers and your soundcard and other things with your computer are fine. It will be better if you'll check your speakers on others PC. Good luck

Hi amdeb, check the monitor speaker volume control on the monitor menu.Verify the volume isn't set low or mute in Windows sound properties. Verify your soundcard isn't set to "headphone mode.

Check if your speaker wires are plugged into the proper ports.
If you are unsure, it won't hurt to try different configurations.
(If you hear sound from other devices such as playing a CD or the "Microsoft Sound" when starting up or shutting down, then the speakers are wired correctly.)
If this is OK then try...

Go to your "Device Manager" (Right click on ‘My Computer', select 'Properties', click the 'Hardware' tab, click the 'Device Manager' button. Click the "Sound video and game controllers"). If there is some kind of a yellow "Warning" icon superimposed on the 'speaker' icon there is your problem! Missing or corrupt drivers.

If no "Warning" icons then try...
Click on the blue icon on the second row looks like a large key in front of a monitor that says "Scan for hardware changes" when you hover your mouse on it.

    One at a time...
Double click on each of the devices that have 'Audio' in the listings.
Click the "Properties" tab; look for any "Warning" icons.
Uninstall the DRIVERS for THAT DEVICE only. See instructions below.
Click on the faulty device and hit the "remove" button, follow the instructions given by the program.
    (This uninstalls the DRIVERS)
Shutdown, restart, the device will automatically reinstall by the "Found New Hardware" program.

    Thank you

possibaly This could be the your speaker problem as Audio output from your computer is working fine, when you plug the headphone. so your can try your speaker at any other computer to confirm it fault.
