Freeze for 2 seconds why?

Hi,
My machine freezes for 2 seconds & the mouse & all is stopped, But after a sound like a short beep or click every thing works normal!
Any idea what it is?

I guess this is your hdd! But cant say unless you tell us your system specifications & operating system! How old is your system?

I don't have any solutions for you, but have you tried using Task Manager to monitor in the background your CPU usage and HDD access. If the glitch is a very regular thing, then there's probably some background activity kicking in periodically and monopolising something.
