The first beta of version 11.1 of openSUSE, the penchant of free commercial distribution of Novell SUSE, is available from Monday. Although it does not revolution compared to the 11.0 version release in June, this new version includes many important updates.
This update minor line on most other Linux distributions currently being tested as Mandriva 2009 and Ubuntu 8.10, incorporating all recent versions of the main components of the system. Thus this preliminary version of openSUSE 11.1 meets the kernel version 2.6.27 RC5, the graphical server X.org version 7.4 and office environments Gnome 2.24 and KDE 4.1.1 and the many innovations that depend on (and particular player Amarok 2.0). Support for IPv6 and Bluetooth has been extended and improved, like the Bluetooth through the bluez software version 4.6.
The download, available for a wide variety of platforms, is from the official site of the distribution. Finally it is a test version that has no guarantee.
