    Will Windows 98 support widescreen monitor

    I have an old computer running Windows 98 on it. I was looking to buy a nice 17" widescreen flat panel monitor for it but was concerned about its compatibility with Windows 98. I don't want to upgrade the OS for the simple reason I have some software's that will only run under 98. So my question is will Windows 98 support widescreen monitor?

    I am not sure about what you are saying, as I have never tried. But if you have an updated graphics card, then you should be able to use that monitor.

    If you're using the manufacturers monitor drivers then Win 98 may not be capable of providing you with higher resolutions. Never saw this before.

    A program called Powerstrip will allow you to create custom resolutions that can be selected in display properties.
