Hello,
I have a problem formatting my computer and now I can not install CD with Win98 because although I recognize the drive D, does not recognize the word "install" and I can not run the instalar.exe.
Thank you in advance.
Evidence in the unit E (although it is involved in the same CD), and try "Install".
The MS-DOS is loaded into a unity "imaginary" which gives the name D why perhaps the CD assigned to the unit E.
Greetings.
It does not recognize the word install? I do not understand.
Look on the CD the correct name of the executable. A
DIR D:\*.EXE DIR D: \ *. EXE
get a list of all executable files on the CD. Among them find INSTALAR.EXE or Install.exe.
It is more safe and speedy installation if the entire cd copies to a folder on the root ... and install from there.
Look for a startup disk win98se, according to where you can get that CD will be recognized as E: or other letters.
I spent the same thing a few days ago, was the letter of cd A:.
Thanks to all,
I'll test it tomorrow , but I am afraid that will not recognize the ""instalar.exe"" because it tells me something like that ""the file does not exist"" when I'm watching because I've done a DIR. (I tried typing other name with its complete files. Exe and tells me the same thing, that the file does not exist). At the moment my computer only recognizes FORMAT, chkdsk, DIR and any other, but just the facility that is not because I need.
the installation (I do not know how) and now you tell if after this word means or not installed."
use Setup.exe, instead of install.exe
