Windows unable to serach update: Code 800F0900

My system is Windows Vista ultimate (OEM Installation), SPK1. When I try to Run Windows Update (my system is configured to run it automatically anyway), I get Code 800F0900!


I checked windows update history, recently it failed twice while installing KB955428 however few days later it was successful while installing windows defender definitions. Assuming KB955428 is the root issue, I downloaded it and tried to install it seperately but i don't see any installlation happening once i click KB955428_en-US.msp.


May not be a big problem at the moment but it feels scary knowing my windows update doesn't work anymore!

SP1 download error 800F0900 on vista 64 bit
