Installing Linux on an iMac?

Hi,
My friend was thinking about getting an iMac (24" from Apple) and wondered whether he could put Linux onto it.
This is for the latest iMacs - I'm not sure myself (waiting for the nice new Intel socket/chips to come out and getting a PC instead)

I've never installed Linux on a mac to be honest, and I haven't installed Mandrake for years. I would think that Mandrake would completely over-write OS-X, however, you may be best served by trying a more linux-centric forum. www.justlinux.com springs to mind

I used to run yellow dog linux or gentoo linux onmy powerbook g4 400 mhz, there ez installs and run great.
