Samsung 840 EVO vs Kingston V300 240gb SSD

I am looking to buy a new SSD for myself and for that I have come across 2 SSDs namely Kingston V300 240gb SSD and Samsung 840 EVO 250GB solid state drives. Now my main question is simply that which one is better among the two? Is there any major difference between these SSDs? The only difference I can see is that the Samsung SSD is costly compared to the Kingston SSD. Apart from that what else is considered? Thanks for any information.

Usually, if you are surfing internet or watching movies then there will be no difference between an hard drive and SSD. But if you want for gaming, then things will load faster with an SSD keeping the FPS unchanged for any game. So, if you are not doing any specific applications that need huge fast disk throughput then you can choose to go with any SSD which will be enough for you. Your operating system will boot faster and opening anything will be responded quickly.

I would recommend you to go with the Samsung 840 Evo SSD because it is the best drive you can find in the market and out performs the Kingston V300 SSD quite easily. But if you are looking to save money or you are on a tight budget then going for the Kingston SSD will not make you notice any significant difference, only the benchmarks of both the SSDs differ in read and write speed, rest everything is similar.

Can you tell us for what purpose you are going to use the SSD? Whether for gaming or booting operating system on it, no doubt, it will boost up your system. Most of the different SSD will perform pretty much the same for any software, so you just need to pick the size that you need and then buy the cheapest one from a major brand. I have heard that Kingston has also released a new firmware to fix some issues addressed with V300 SSD, so you can go with it without any worries.
