    Kingston Hyperx Predator DDR4

DDR3 is being pushed beyond its capacity to meet this dynamic world, even with 1866MT/s and 2133MT/s speeds added and lower power DDR3U 1.25V, we are nearing the limits of its capabilities. Reduced power requirements aside, the demand for increased performance beyond 2133 motivated the transition to develop the next generation of memory.

DDR4's, the next generation in the family of memory. Kingston HyperX Predator is one of its kind.

Here are some detailed differences between Kingston HyperX Predator DDR4 and the DDR3 RAM's with its advantages

    Chip Densities
    DDR3 - 512Mb-8Gb
    DDR4 - 4GB-16GB

    Data Rates
    DDR3 - 800Mb/s - 2133Mb/s
    DDR4 - 1600Mb/s - 3200Mb/s

    Voltage
    DDR3 - 1.5V
    DDR4 - 1.2V

    Low Voltage Standard
    DDR3 - Yes (DDR3L at 1.35V)
    DDR4 - Anticipated at 1.05V

    Internal Banks
    DDR3 - 8
    DDR4 - 16

    Bank Groups (BG)
    DDR3 - 0
    DDR4 - 4

    VREF inputs
    DDR3 - 2 - DQs and CMD/ADDR
    DDR4 - 1 - CMD/ADDR

    tCK - DLL Enabled
    DDR3 - 300MHz - 800MHz
    DDR4 - 667MHz - 1.6GHz

    tCK - DLL Disabled
    DDR3 - 10MHz - 125MHz (optional)
    DDR4 - Undefined to 125MHz

    Read Latency
    DDR3 - AL + CL
    DDR4 - AL + CL

    Write Latency
    DDR3 - AL + CWL
    DDR4 - AL + CWL

    DQ Driver (ALT)
    DDR3 - 40Ω
    DDR4 - 48 Ω

    DQ Bus
    DDR3 - SSTL15
    DDR4 - POD12

    RTT Values (in Ω)
    DDR3 - 120, 60, 40, 30, 20
    DDR4 - 240, 120, 80, 60, 48, 40, 34

    RTT Not Allowed
    DDR3 - READ Bursts
DDR4 - Disables during Read Bursts

    ODT Modes
    DDR3 - Nominal, Dynamic
    DDR4 - Nominal, Dynamic, Park

    ODT Control
    DDR3 - ODT Signaling Required
DDR4 - ODT Signaling NOT Required

    DDR4 - 288 (R, LR, U); 260 (SODIMM)

    RAS
    DDR3 - ECC
DDR4 - CRC, Parity, Addressability, GDM

A great move by Kingston Technology in this ever changing environment. Please share your ideas and thoughts on this.

    Re: Kingston Hyperx Predator DDR4

Are there any DDR4 RAM motherboards available in the market? What will be the cost of these RAM sticks? I was hoping that DDR4 memory's would be above 2400mhz in speed but it seems that it is kind of limited.
