Crucial M500 or Kingston V300 SSD

I am looking to buy new Solid State Drives so that I can install Windows operating system on it. So I came accross two SSDs namely Crucial M500 or Kingston V300 after a lot of search. After comparing these 2 SSDs I found out that Crucial M500 has 500mb read speed and 250mb write speed whereas the Kingston V300 gives a 450mb read as well as write speed. Which one do you all think is the best among these? Thanks

If we compare Kingston V300 then Crucial M500 is slightly faster than Kingston and it has also got a better controller. So, you can pick it if you want but note that it is somewhat expensive as well. You can check the comparison in more details on many SSD benchmarking websites and get a clear idea about any SSDs that you want to use. Kingston has not offered anything new with this new V300 SSD if you ask me.

Re: Crucial M500 or Kingston V300 SSD

For quite some time I wanted to boost my pc that was previously having 3GB of RAM, Dual Core E5400 CPU. So, recently I received my Kingston V300 SSD and mounted directly via a bootable usb flash drive with Xubuntu version of Ubuntu which was very light. After partitioning everything I finally got to taste the joys of SSD. The Xubuntu on my pc was taking approximately 8-10 seconds to boot. Everything was very fluid in my 4 year old pc. Note that this version of the operating system was light hence it took less time for booting but if other Windows OS will be put then it will gradually take more time.

If you can spend another 20$ then you can even get a better SSD of Samsung 840 Evo. You can easily install it in your system and it runs very fast with no noise at all. This is a quality product from Samsung as expected. You can sure expect to get a 554mb/s read and 530mb/s write speed from this SSD. You also get a software with it that makes sure that you get the most out of it. The only pain is the additional money that you have to spend on it.
