Gigabyte GTX 760 vs Radeon HD 7950

I am looking to buy a new video card but I am confused between 2 graphics card at the moment. I will be using this graphics card with my core i7 processor and will also be overclocking the card. So, can anyone tell me which graphics card among these 2 should I go, whether Radeon HD 7950 or Gigabyte GTX 760 ? Thanks for any suggestions

Well, are you looking to by the HD 7950 Boost graphics card? If I were to choose any graphics card then I will select the Gigabyte GTX 760. You can expect the same performance from both the cards but the HD 7950 might not be overclockable and it will also run hot at times and make a lot of noise as well. The cooler on the Gigabyte card gives optimal cooling when the card is run to its limit.

I was also going to suggest you the Gigabyte GTX 760 video card too. With this card you can also play games on 1080p with 2gb of VRAM. You can expect to get atleast 65fps constant or something close to that at highest settings while playing Battlefield 3 game. On the other hand the HD 7950 has got a bad cooler and runs very hot.

Even I will recommend you to go for the GTX 760 graphics card. I am using the HD 7950 video card and although it is a good card but its price is somewhat high compared to the Gigabyte GTX 760 and it also performs giving similar performance like the 7950. I am able to overclock the HD 7950 graphics card very high but it starts giving loud sound.
