Cannot install Office XP Service Pack 3

My system is not able to install Office XP Service Pack 3 update it fails with am error saying

"Error 1402 Set up cannot open the registry key. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\OptionalComponents\IMAIL. Verify that you have sufficient permissions to access the registry or contact Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS) for assistance."

I have tried installing the update manually using using OfficeXpSp3-kb832671-fullfile-enu.exe but i am getting same error message again. Is there anything i can try out to install Office XP Service Pack 3 update without any such issues??

I have checked out for "Error 1402: Setup cannot open Registry Key " and have come across below Knowledgeable article. Just go through it and try out the workaround that has been mentioned there for dealing with the error.
You receive an error message when you install an Office program or open an Office program or document
