From where can I download Office 2000 Sp1

I have Windows XP SP1 installed in my system. Due to some issue I have to fix my system by re-installing all stuff back again. I had managed to found a setup of Office 2000 but not the SP1 update. From where I can locate that. I had tried to find the same on all Office update website but there is no download found. Also there are no other services packs like SP2 or SP3 working on my system. I had found a link of Microsoft Office 2000 Resource Kit in a previous thread. In that I can find the Office 2000 SR-1 update. I cannot locate the download. I had contacted Microsoft and they had given me the smae link. Does anyone find this here. Even if someone can provide me SP1 cd of Office then that will too work.

Yes the SR-1 security update is provided on that link. But you are not able to locate the same. I found two updates related to that. They are:

There are no other update listed related to that. I got some dead links of SP1 which are not at all working. So I did not find the same better to list here. I have some more reference link that can help you to fix the issue. Unfortunately the download of SR-1a update is not available. There can be some file sharing or download site which can still offer you the download.
How to apply the Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a Update to an administrative installation of the Office CD2

Try to run the setup first and then try to run the update patch. That will be quiet helpful in many cases. I had tested this stuff on my old system and it worked. It is really hard to locate a Office 2000 download disk. If we check officially then Microsoft is not provided any download for 2000 SP1a. I had performed a number of updates but that too does work. Those who had kept the old files saved in their system will help out to some extent.

There is one more thing that can help you in many ways. There is a O2KSR1aDL.exe file that you can download from internet and run. This file had fixed a number of issue related to Office 2000 update. It is easier to find. Still some download site offers you the update for the same.

This a very old issue and still it is intact with number of systems. I had tried a tons of time to download the same from web and then make it work. But that does not really worked out. I had checked almost many sites on Google. Even did not find a proper response from Microsoft. This looks that only upgrading to new version can fix the issue out. I had seen that many experience users says that SP1a no longer work. Even if you try to install the same from number of different sources. That did not worked out much. Somehow the update also gives a issue with the extractor it has. It does not properly extract the file out which makes it complicated to install. This relies with the extractor version. Microsoft support has a article How to obtain and install the Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a Update based on the this issue. It puts a bit highlight on the problem but a time consuming process to fix up things.

    Re: Duxdad see this

If you are installing the update via CD then it will go well. But through Windows Update it is a issue. I am trying to run Office 2000 on Windows Vista. I had done with the setup which somehow worked without error. I had configured compatibility mode. Now the SP1a is not at all working. My friend has kept a CD of that. He shared that this system works fine with the setup when done through CD. I had downloaded o2ksr1a.exe on my system. On installation it ask to access a agreement. I clicked yes and after a few minutes it crashed with a error. The same thing happened on my old XP computer also. I am not able understand what the issue behind it. I had checked the Office installation which was fine. The update only crash on downloading new updates.

I had found the download O2KSR1aDL.exe file. I got that from a file sharing site. It was fine and there were no issue in the download. Because on Microsoft forums many users had posted a link that offers download but they are dead. There are only some site which offer you proper download, but that is of no use at all. As none of them are working. My uncles old Windows 98 computer is still striving on Office 2000. I do not want to spoil the same so I tested the setup first on my XP system and the result was same as expected. Everytime there is new error on the screen. Sometime is a installation bug while sometime the error related to file not found. I had checked all updates but yet Microsoft is not interested to give any updates on the same. You must either quiet using Office 2000 or get the much newer edition. That would be the only way that can help you to deal with this.

I am sure there is no place where we can find a updated version of O2KSR1aDL.exe. Because of this issue I am not able to go with more newer updates. And for those who are non english the issue lies more complicated.

I have the same problem, with my good old office 2000 just installed on a Win7 computer. I still have the old computer with the full office 2000 with all SP's running, but it does not seem possible to extract them dn apply to the new unit.

Can you please give me the URL's to the Danish site where I can download SP1a & 3?

    Thank you

re: From where can I download Office 2000 Sp1

My thanks to posters on this thread. I had already destroyed a mouse and was starting to use profanity as I talked to myself. My computer had started acting up (no video and the memory slots were intermittent). After a new motherboard, processor, two DVD drives and a new monitor (it would have been a lot easier to buy a new computer) I had solved most of the problems. The final two were killing me.

After getting my system back from the shop, it would still latch up after a few hours of operation. I traced this back to the Microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse and Microsoft is sending me a new one.

The last one involved Office 2000. I had made the decision, since I was also getting a new hard drive, to reload everything and start with a fresh system. It was a family computer and showed the effects of two teenagers using it. While reloading a fresh version of XP was no problem, reloading Office 2000 proved a problem. I had the original disks and was able to load that quickly. However, I could not load any service packs. Microsoft has ended support and the *&@#$(#@ won't tell you that service pack 1a, which you need to load any further service packs, has been "disconnected" on their website. Later service packs appear to work

After reading the threads here, I searched the Internet for O2KSR1aDL.exe and eventually found a site where I was able to download the file. IT WORKED. After that, I went back to the Microsoft network and was able to load service pack 3 for Office 2000. Yippeee!

    Thanks once again

You can obtain and install the Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a Update. To download and install the SR-1/SR-1a Update, use your Web browser to visit the following Microsoft Web site:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
On the right side of the Web page, click Download. If you are prompted with the choice to Open or to Save O2ksr1a.exe, click Open. The SR-1a update starts downloading now. Because of the relatively large size of the download, this process can take up to several hours, depending on your Internet connection speed. After the update package is finished downloading, the interface appears. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the installation. If you are prompted to install the original install media during the process, do so when you are prompted. When the install process is completed, restart your computer if you are prompted to do so

James 911 If you will look that file is only a shell and it searches for some stuff and then downloads the file from Microsoft. The problem is that Microsoft has pulled the actual SR1 from the servers.

May need to run the Office 2000 update SR-1/SR-1a twice in Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server: The first time is to update Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
The second time is to upgrade to Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.01.
    • The first time is to update Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
    • The second time is to upgrade to Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.01.

Before you begin, obtain the Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a Update on CD, or download and install the Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a O2ksr1adl.exe.

How can I get a free copy of the o2ksr1adl.exe file?
You can download it from Microsoft site, if you are not able to download it, then you can do the same from other sites.

    Office 2000 - Ultimate Setup

Hello, I think this will help.
This setup works on Windows All (from '95 to 7, sorry for 3.1 users). Now you know why you can't find what you are looking for. I have done a lot of research for this:
    Presuming Office 2000 installed...
First of all, please get Office 2000 SP1 (SR-1a) full offline installer from here (let's say thanks!):
    ftp://ftp.lansystems.co.uk/pub/Microsoft/O2KSR1aDL.EXE
(MS made unavailable on purpose this very important update for the entire process, you know why)
The rest of Office 2000 updates, as you already know, can be downloaded from MS site.
In case you do not know, you'll need:
SP3 for office 2000 (client version, don't bother with the "admin one") from here:
    http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...-US/O2kSp3.exe
After SP3, you may want to apply all updates available for Office 2000. These are (and apply in this order, please):
    KB818798 (Office update)
    KB905555 (PowerPoint update)
    KB905646 (Outlook update)
    KB920822 (Office update)
    KB920906 (Office update)
    KB931660 (Office web components update)
    KB947361 (Office update)
    KB944425 (Office update)
    KB946986 (Outlook update)
    KB950682 (Publisher update)
    KB921595 (Office update)
    KB955441 (Access update)
    KB921606 (Office update)
    KB957790 (PowerPoint update)
    KB969600 (Word update)
    KB969683 (Excel update)
    KB957838 (Office update)
There are not (and there will be not) others updates available for Office 2000 (End Of Life in June 2009).
Office 2000 works on Vista and Seven very well, with these two little tricks:
    1. To make Outlook working on Vista and Seven, copy wab32.dll and wab32res.dll from C:\Program Files\Common Files\System to C:\Windows\System32.
    2. To make Office Assistant working on Vista and Seven, copy agentdpv.dll from C:\Windows\msagent to C:\Windows\System32.
    That's all about Office 2000.

    Thank you for your attention.
