    removing office 2007 trial

I got a new Toshiba Laptop from my Office running with Windows XP SP2 and came with Office Home and Student 2007 Trail pre-installed. As the trial is already expired and I have few more weeks to buy the full version, I thought to install my Office 2000 Full version until then on this PC. Hence I went to Add and Remove programs to uninstall Office 2007. But when I click on Uninstall it gives me an error saying “Setup Error. Cannot find a program to uninstall, please contact system administrator.” What error is this? I mean, I am the only Administrator of this PC and the programs is listed right there, still it is saying unable to find a program to remove? Somebody please help.

Well if you are unable to remove it manually from the Add and Remove programs, than you can simply use Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and uninstall it. This is the better way to uninstall programs on windows based systems, it also removes it register entries that creates problem in future.

You should also check out this KB Article describing various ways to uninstall Office 2007 suites from you PC: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218
