    Silent install of Office 2007 Language Pack

    I am using English Edition of Office 2007 and as per my new job I need to install all language packs Microsoft offers. Now as installing so many languages will obviously make my package heavier, I want to do it silently so that that it will remove all unwanted stuffs that I wont need. And that will keep my office package lighter. I tried doing this using OTC but wasn’t successful. Can anyone help me for the same ?

    RE: Silent install of Office 2007 Language Pack

    I have done this once in my office PCs using config.xml files. You should checkout Microsoft Office 2007 Resource Kit, you will get many useful resources for doing what you want. In my case I setup config for each languages such as config_es.xml, config_fr.xml, etc. You can simply make sucn config for each and specify the languages you want to install and by adding this:
    <AddLanguage Id="en-us" ShellTransform="yes" />
    <AddLanguage Id="de-de" />
    Once done, simply run the setup with the config, and you will be done.

    I appreciate your info friend but if am not making mistake that is used for installing on Network, right ? In my case I want to install it on just my PC. BTW, I am aware of the same and that is not useful for me because I used it for a language and it just installs proofing tools but I need only the language pack and no other components. I want to this because, as I said earlier, I want to keep my office package smaller in size.

    I don’t think you can do it because as per my research and according to Microsoft itself, it is not possible to create an unattended install of a customized SLP. You need to think something else.
