Office 2010 RTM configures every time an office program is started

About six months ago I bought a new laptop came with Windows 7 32bit and office 2007. Now as office 210 RTM has arrived I thought to upgrade the same and did it successfully. There was no problem while upgrading. But when I try opening any office application, instead of launching the app it comes up with a window saying something like “configuring Microsoft office standard 2010”.

I thought it could be due to some problem in installation, hence uninstalled the same completely from the system and re-installed again. But guess what, yet the same problem. This time I thought to install the same manually following the steps mentioned in the Microsoft KB 928218. But still the error about configuring Office 2010.

Now I don’t know what else I can do to fix it. Any suggestions?

Well the upgradation process that you have done on your system was not proper and it seems to me that because of this you are getting this error on your system. Now what I want you to do here is that uninstall the MS office that is currently running on your system and then to just install the updated MS office 2010 but make sure that you are downloading the same from the official site.
