stdole32.tlb prompt every time I start Microsoft Office 2007 HELP

I bought a Dell desktop system two months ago that came with Vista and Office 2007 Trial pre-loaded. As it got expired, I bought a Office 2007 CD with product and installed the same. Installation went fine without any problem but whenever I open any office product it gives me and error something saying “stdole32.tlb”

I have never seen this error before hence don’t have any idea. Can anyone help me out fixing this error prompt everytime launching any office app ? Thanks in advance.

Well the cause seems very obvious. You haven’t mentioned that you removed Office trail before installing the new Office 2007. Have you ? if not, that is causing the problem. Whenever you install any office version you must uninstall all Trial or any version of office installed earlier. Or it will create many such problems.

So what you should do now is uninstall Office 2007 as well Activation Assistant from your Add and Remove Programs. Go to Start and type ‘Disk Cleanup’, run the disk cleanup and delete each file you see related to Office. Reboot the computer and now install the new Office. That’s it.

The Error stdole32 most probably occurs when there is a change in the permission of default values for the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\TypeLib. And this occurs if you have uninstalled Trail version properly from the system before installing any other Office.
