SKU001.CAB and ZF612702.CAB missing in office professional 2003

Mine is very complicated situation but I’ll try to explain it in as simple as I can. I work on Windows XP PC at my office having Microsoft Office Pro 2003 installed. I needed to do some stuff with my Mobile phone hence I borrowed a ActiveSync CD from one of my friends and installed it on this system. I connected my mobile phone but I noticed that there was problem with this ActiveSync, it was not working properly. Hence I deleted it.

After few minutes when I resumed my job work and launched MS Outlook, I got an error message saying “SKU001.CAB could not be found”. I simply clicked on Cancel button and Outlook quit. I am not sure why this message occurred all of a sudden but I guess it could be because of the ActiveSync, might be I have deleted SKU001.CAB file while removing ActiveSYnc.

Hence I downloaded latest version of ActiveSYnc from Official Microsoft Site and installed. Surprisingly when I launched Outlook next time there was no such error message. That was fine. Today when I came to office and tried opening MS Excel, again I got the same error “SKU001.CAB could not be found”. Well this was bad news for me. I thought it could be fixed by repairing the Office Setup, but I don’t have the Office installation disk as it is my job computer.

So I downloaded a pirated copy of Office 2003 from internet just for repairing my Office 2003. Luckily it got the SKU001.CAB file and no more that error again. But here’s a new problem. Now whenever I open any office program, system flash a message saying “ZF612702.CAB missing”. I tried repairing again but it is not getting this file.

I don’t know why this problem started all of a sudden and how to fix it. Can anyone please help me fixing this ?

I can help you with this but you will need to arrange the office 2003 disk to take the effect. If you can do the same click this page and download Office2003SP2-KB887616-FullFile-ENU.exe (that is about 101.8 MB), save it somewhere on your desktop. Now insert the Office CD in the drive and run the setup you downloaded and saved on desktop. Once the setup completes your problem will be solved.
