    Data "not" being manufacturers problem

    Hey- im new here. i got a question but i've no idea where to put this.


    I need some information (apart from manufacturers website) regarding data not being manufacturers problem if theres a problem with HDD or wiped

    i am fully aware manufacturers are not held responsibile but i always hear them say it but nothing on paper or law

    any ideas where to obtain the info i require plzzzz

    If there is a hdd problem then it is manufacturers fault & you can get it replaced but for the lost of data the owner is responsible for it. That is as simple as it can be.

    yeah, i work for a repairers customer service team and we get these and becomes escalations because customers they should of been told about data loss. but these are clearly stated on his terms and conditions of the manufac warrenty. but then the customer says "i got in touch with MY solicitor ......."

    if this is the case, is law involved that data is not liable or held responsible against the manufacturer if its wiped or replaced.

    Basically, holding the manufacturer liable in these cases means forcing them to replace the items sold to others. Just a practice of threatening.
