Whats wrong in that ...?
There are many player who smoke.
Smoking in public is not a good sign of responsible citizen. Smoking is not bad, but smoking in public is absolutely worse. One should not only think about himself but also about the surroundings and the effect on others.
Players might be smoking, and i dont think theres anything bad about that. But if these celebrities or palyers smoke in public, especially during match openly, its definitely not a good deed from their side. Coz one may believe or not, knowingly or unknowingly, people (mostly teens) follow these celebrities. So these celebrities should also behave like a responsible person.
A photograph of Shane Warne smoking at PCA Stadium Mohali on 24th of March appeared in a news paper. Shane Warne has been issued notice on 30th of march 2010 by health the authorities that why the action should not be taken against him for smoking at Public place. The purpose was also to make the public aware about the Law which says that no one can smoke at a Public place and if found violating the Act he/she can be penalized.
Again on 2nd of April Mr Vijay Mallya was cought smoking at the same venue by a News reporter and the Health Authorities again acted in the same way and asked me mallya why action should not be taken against him,The result was that on 9th of march before the start of IPL-3 cricket match there was an announcement on Public system warning the public not to smoke in the stadium. This was what was required as four teams constituted by the District Health Authorities to challan any person violating the Anti Smoking Act could not find any person smoking there.

Smoking is bad in any form but it is more so when it is passive one because one is not aware that he is being affected by the smoke from the other smoking person.
Anti Smoking Act (Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products,--------Act,2003) is applicable all over in India.
