German luxury car manufacturer, Audi AG, on Thursday, April 23, announced the launch of the new Audi A6, one of the world’s most successful business sedan, in India.
Speaking of the A6 as one of Audi’s main contributors to achievement in the Indian market, Benoit Tiers, Managing Director Audi India, said “India has been a significant growth driver for Audi and will be the car market of the future. In 2009 Audi celebrates 100 years of the brand and the launch of the new Audi A6 is Audi’s continued commitment to the Indian market to offer luxury cars with superior technology, thrilling design and high performance to provide an unforgettable experience to our customers.”
The design of the new Audi A6 is emphasised by a range of bold new accents, perfectly articulating the cars strong personality. The single-frame grill, bumpers, air vents and fog lights have all gotten a facelift. In the standard xenon plus, LED daytime running lights have been redesigned as horizontal strips with six LEDs each.
The new Audi A6 will be available along with the entire Audi model range comprising the Audi A8, Audi Q7, Audi A4, Audi TT and the super sports car Audi R8 from May 4th, 2009 onwards at 12 dealerships across the country.
Earlier in April, Audi registered a robust growth in car sales in India. In March 2009, Audi India sold 162 cars, a growth of 56 per cent, as compared to 104 cars sold in March 2008. Despite the challenging market situation, Audi India have registered impressive sales of 384 cars in the first quarter of 2009, a significant growth of 76 per cent compared to the sales registered during the corresponding period last year.
Audi AG develops and produces luxury cars and sold worldwide a total of 1,003,000 cars in 2008 and thus achieved its thirteenth consecutive record year. Apart from Aurangabad in India, Audi produces vehicles in Germany, Hungary, China and Belgium. The company is active in more than 100 markets worldwide.
The car will be available from May 4th, 2009 onwards at 12 car dealerships across the country with a price tag of Rs 38 Lakhs.
