Dubai Marina Skyscraper with 57 Swimming Pools

Have you ever wondered how many swimming pools could possibly be enough for a skyscraper? Well a new super-tall luxury residential tower being built at Dubai Marina could finally answer this question.

23 Marina is a 395-meter tall residential building, now under construction, that will rise 89 floors above the ground. It has been designed by the International Building Centre with roughly octagonal floor plates and a 64-meter tall spire above the main structure that helps turn it into what looks like a giant pencil with typical Dubai-esque cladding of blue and white.

23 Marina is being developed by Hircon International which has deliberately rejected the multi-use concept that many of Dubai's taller towers enjoy, going for a solely residential building with 288 apartments and only a few extra facilities such as a three-storey spa, which will be for the exclusive use of the occupiers.

    About DTCM India Representative Office

The Government of Dubai, Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has had a representative office in India for over eleven years, which has been functioning as an initial contact point and query-processing centre for the Indian travel trade interested in doing business in Dubai.

The India office aims at promoting commerce and tourism, through the organization of marketing activities such as presentations, road shows, advertising, brochure distribution, direct sales meetings and media education programmes, which include familiarization visits for business and travel journalists to Dubai.

The DTCM expects to play an important role in boosting bilateral ties by promoting a widespread awareness of the opportunities Dubai has to offer in both business and tourism. The presence in Mumbai brings to 15 the total number of offices in the DTCM’s international network.

The Dubai developer Nakheel – the company that created man-made islands in the shapes of a palm tree and the world – said the structure would be the centre-piece of an inner-city harbour planned as the emirate's unofficial capital.

It would not comment on the exact height or cost of the Islamic design-inspired Nakheel Tower. The building will have "more than 200 floors" and be part of "a multi-billion pound development", the company said.
Speaking at a press conference yesterday, a cautious Nakheel chief executive officer, Christopher O'Donnell, said: "From our perspective, we are building a tower that's going to be over a kilometre in height. This is a complete iconic development. It may be the tallest."

The tower and harbour project will take more than 10 years to complete. Apart from the landmark structure, there will be another 40 towers, ranging in height from 20 floors to 90 floors. The entire development will be home to more than 55,000 people and a workplace for more than 45,000.
