Windows Defender consuming 100% of cpu

Whenever I start my pc it works very slow. This time I checked in Task Manager and found that Windows Defender is using the complete processor. That is why I am unable to work on any other thing. I was having virus problem in the pc. I am using Windows Defender only as the default antivirus. But this now this tool is making my pc slow. How can I remove it and make my pc work a bit faster.

Boot your pc in safe mode. You cannot remove Windows Defender but you can turn it off. For that click on Start and in the search box below type Defender. Windows Defender will start. In that click on Tools and then click on options. Now click on Administrator. You will find a tick on use this program. Remove that and save it. That's it. Restart your pc and install another good antivirus. You can try a free one.

Turning defender off is not a solution. There can be virus issue in your pc due to which your cpu consuming is really high. You have to use a third party antivirus program here. For that you boot your pc in safe mode and install antivirus like norton. If you are unable to use pc in that also then you have to add a bootable antivirus. This antivirus will scan your system from a dvd drive and it is quiet effective.
