Some games and programs does not work because of Norton Auto-protect

I am trying to play games on my laptop. I got some set of DVD's from my friend. Now I had installed the same and it looks to be working well. But somehow there is a issue with my antivirus. I had enabled auto protect here. And due to that some games are not working. I cannot play any game here. When I try to launch them there is a black screen and that's all. The system freezes. On the left bottom I get some popup from Norton. Can anyone simply help me to find what is the issue here.

Auto-protect might be thinking the game files which you are trying to launch are security threat due to which you are getting issue. It is necessary that you must simply try to disable it for sometime and then retry to use them. That might fix the job.

Norton Auto-Protect has cause some issues with different kind of applications in past time. What ore you can do is simply disable it. I can give you a short intro on the same that might help you more to understand what auto-protect actually is. It is a real time protection against threat. It gives you more security over regular mode. It act properly whenever any unwanted stuff is accessed in your system. Auto-protect is also active when you try to simply copy or move a file. It is also working when you are opening any file. So when it finds the files which you are trying to open is unsafe it blocks it. It is essential that you must simply use it as it is the only line of defense available. I am not very sure about the process to turn it off but you can find the same in settings. Auto-protect tries to check inside the files for threats. That might slow the file launch. And also due to that the system simply respond poorly. It is enabled by default. It works really well in giving out security against different kind of threats. It is essential that you must turn it off for sometime only. At the time when you are trying to play the games.

Are you playing pirated games. I think you are have all pirated games in your system due to which you are facing the issue. It is essential that you must buy genuine version and this issue will be resolves. Whatever keygen or patcher you are trying to run will be blocked by Norton.

Most of the antivirus does that. When you are trying to use pirated applications they tries to block it and does not allow you to do anything. While if the file is genuine then you do not face issue. When you right click on Norton icon in system tray you get option to disable it. You can turn it off for sometime and then launch the game. This is just a temporary solution. Auto-protect offers a set of features to protect your overall system. Like it keeps a eye on file system. Any un-authorized changes or modification are blocked. Due to which when you try to install pirated application this antivirus does not allows them to modify the file system and that makes them unstable. It just tries to maintain maximum security in your system. But if you are getting the issue with a genuine application then there can be bug with it. Try to update your video drivers also and test back. I think that will be more appropriate in fixing the issue. Old video drivers are common cause of black screen. But once the same is upgraded the game might work well.
