How to Remove Flashback Trojan from Mac OS X Lion

We all know that recently there is a huge security breach in Mac OS X. A hacker capable to exploit a bug in Java software for Mac and then finally able to install some malware on Mac OS X after 12 years in order to gain access of system or to install Backdoor. The malware was remarkably weak but actually it showed the strength of the Mac OS X security architecture. The damage to user-level environment is very little but damage was done. Right now apple has released an update to Java which will patch the security hole in java software. But yet, there is no option or tool to remove the already infected Flashback Trojan from the MAC OS X. Any suggestions?

If your Mac is really infected by a Flashback Trojan, you really don’t need to do anything, Apple actually stopped including Java in OS X Lion. If you don’t have a java, then don’t go for the installation. But if you have a java already installed in your Mac, just launch the System Preferences > Software Update > Check Now and wait. If there is no update available, then the system will be fine otherwise it will get the Java update and it will automatically remove the Flashback malware. Also I have heard that Apple is working on a tool that can remove the malware flashback from an infected Mac. Those who wait for this official solution and does not want to flash back away do not want to access the terminal of Mac OS X is, by now well-developed tools from third parties.

Re: How to Remove Flashback Trojan from Mac OS X Lion

Flashback is a so-called Trojan horse that exploits vulnerability in Java in order to install itself on a Mac. As a consequence, the software can be remotely controlled from an existing Internet connection. Apple has now the gap is closed by a security update - although for older operating systems such as Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard is still missing. The installation program of the Trojan disguises the fact that as the installation program from Adobe Flash looks. Whether you own the Mac is infected, it can be a trip to the terminal, or determine with the help of a tool. The distance was far, however, relatively complicated, the user had to perform multiple commands on the terminal.

As a result, Apple is likely working on their own tool, so that less experienced users do not need to drop off their computers with a specialist. The Russian security company Kaspersky has now, however, the safety experts at F-Secure developed its own tool to remove flashback. The tool of F-Secure is a particularly slim Solution: This is an AppleScript that tracks the Flashback files, removes it from its directory and a zip-file "package" which the user can remove it.

Re: How to Remove Flashback Trojan from Mac OS X Lion

After several days, Apple finally released a Java update for Mac OS X and so ends the nightmare of annoying Trojan Flashback affecting more than 600 thousand computers worldwide. The patch eliminates the most common forms of malware and its future versions. In the case of OS X Lion, the update set to Safari plugin for web, disabling the automatic execution of Java applets . If the user activates the execution of applets but is not used for a "prolonged period" of time, the system disables the permissions again. Apple recommends that users of Mac OS X 10.6 to disable Java in web browsers unless necessary. The download is available through the "Software Update". Although the patch far surpasses solutions offered by F-Secure and Kaspersky as it weighs almost 67 MB, it is best to have the fullest possible protection against these threats.
