VPN setup from Android to NETGEAR FVS338

I have already seen that it is somewhat possible to do VPN connection from ipad to a Netgear router. Here in my case I am using an Android mobile. So can anyone tell me how to configure VPN connection from Android mobile to a FVS338?

I don’t think that it is possible and it will not work either. The reason behind this is, the current firmware does not have support for cisco client base ipsec. But I hope that the future firmware may contain support for that. Foe any queries, you should directly contact the netgear support directly.

As far as I know that the VPN (Virtual Private Network) often used at work and is accessed from the outside (internet) as if you were connected within the company, it's like you throw a cable. The content is usually encrypted so no one can "see" what the "cable". It can also be used to access your home network and access your files from the Internet. To get all these things I assume that you need to root the android phone or rebuilding my VPN from the ground up

You can access local network with Android via VPN and for that you will need the open source router from Netgear with original firmware.

    On VPN server (router)
    • Dynamic Domain Name System set up under the "Setup / DDNS".
    • Virtual Private Network under "Services / VPN / PPTP Server" configuration.
    • PPTP pass-through "Security / VPN pass-through" on.

    On VPN client (Android)
    • VPN in "Settings / Wireless & Networks / VPN Settings / Add VPN / PPTP VPN add".
    • Configure ... "setting VPN server", and as before, in Host Name (see VPN Server DDNS) is set.
    • The VPN connection can "Connect to ..." on "VPNs" / are produced.
