According to my information, may be your SSID is disable, so try to make it enable and then see whether the routers is show up on any devices attempting to connect. If not then you can also manually connect Guest SSID, so it is possible to connect to it manually using the SSID. May this will help you out. Or the alternate thing you can try is to use guest access in bridge mode.

The thing that I know about this issue is that, there is no possibility to use guest access in bridge mode. And also it is only possible when you make the E4200 operates as router, because in bridge mode work directly in LAN Network connection. Also the Guest separation is not possible. To overcome this issue just try to enable SSID broadcast.

You must have the main 2.4 GHz network SSID enabled, if you want to make guest mode to work and its SSID to be enabled. There also recommended to make use of the latest firmware, and also you have to prevent the devices to access any private IP address, then you have to make private addresses non-routable for the Guest network. Try to make use of Guest with this release of the firmware, after this only the Internet routable IPs should be accessible to the guest network.

May be you are using the older version of firmware, so you should purchase the latest version of firmware, and don’t make any hard reset after this firmware upgraded. May be after upgrading to latest version of firmware the guest network works.

I Think you must use the E4200 as AP, this will fixed this issue. Try to make use of E4200 router as AP. And also the guest access works in bridge mode if you use E4200 router as AP.

According to my information try to set the guest network broadcast SSID with a password for access. This Is one of the simple trick to make your site visitor to try to connect and then the router asked for the password and if the password match the assign password then the user will get the internet access. And also the Cisco needs to update the firmware.

OK, I am here to settle this matter. It is possible to use guest network in bridge mode AND separate all other computers except your gateway to the internet from guest clients (guest isolation).

    here is how:

    1. Change subnet on your internet gateway local LAN interface. I used 255.255.248.0 (for example if your LAN network is 192.0.10.0 , making this change will allow your gateway router to talk to computers on 192.0.12.0)

    2. Set the E4200 in bridge mode. Also use a 255.255.248.0 subnet. You will also need to use a local LAN ip address that is outside your normal LAN network (local LAN network = 192.0.10.0 so make your E4200 ip = 192.0.12.50 (or whatever)).

    3. On E4200 enable all wireless but password them and enable guest.

    4. Connect the WAN port on E4200 to LAN port on gateway OR switch.

    5. Connect to guest network and try to ping 192.0.10.0 computers. You should not be able to. Now try to access the internet. You should be able to.

Because all device other than your internet gateway will still have subnets of 255.255.255.0, wireless guest clients cannot talk to them because they are on different subnets. Likewise, since your internet gateway now has a subnet = 255.255.248.0 it can talk to hosts on networks = 192.0.8.0 - 192.0.15.0 (which includes the guest network range)

BTW, you can now have up to 2046 computers on your network.

    Any questions???
