Sharepoint Services 3.0 alerts

Wondering if is it possible to set-up Sharepoint Services 3.0 on and SBS 2003 server to send alerts for different lists to different email user addresses. Basically I am trying to configure two separate "issue tracking" logs to send new alerts to different users, however I find that when I change the email address on the second list to that of the second user it changes all instances of that email address so alerts from both lists then go to the same email address instead of to two different addresses.

yes it is very much possible to do that but you have to be very careful while going ahead with the installation. means while installing Sharepoint Services 3.0 on SBS you need to install it side-by-side with Windows SharePoint Services 2.0. Now what this will do is that it will leave the existing Web site intact but it will also create a new Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Web site. Now while installing Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 on your server you have to be careful as if which upgrade are you selecting. As of now during the installation do not go with the upgrade that would be the better option. So for that select 'No, do not upgrade at this time'. Do remember that maintain your site as Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 installation.

After you have installed it check whether all the administrative tools are working properly or not with the Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 and if they are working they should not interact with Windows SharePoint Services 3.0.
