What Are the Advantages of Fiber Optic Cables?

I am right now studying in the college. I have heard about the fiber optic cable. But I actually don’t have the idea about it completely. So I want to know about it and also want to know the actually what are the advantages of using the fiber optic cable.

You must know first that actually is what is the fiber optic cable actually. So I want to tell you that the it’s actually communication technology use to transfer the data. This is really thinner. And the ability of it is that it can transfer the data across the distance at the speed of the light which is one of the biggest plus point of it. There are also the other communication technologies which are actually made of the copper and using the heavy metallic wires. Which are really expensive one as compare to this. Fiber optics is one of the best data transfer medium right now.

Using the fiber optic cable has many advantages. One of the advantages which I know is that it’s cheaper it cost actually less if we compare it with the copper wire. And also this is the first choice of the most of the peoples since it will help to transmit the data over long distance.

Yes what he says is the right the it’s cheap as compare to the other mediums which are used for the transferring of the data. Other advantage which I want to point out is that it is the secure communication medium as compare to the others. Actually they are secure since they have the high resistance against the radio frequency interference, jamming and tapping. Fiber optic cable are used by many of the us departments are using it. United state defense department is using this technology from around the 25 years.

Re: What Are the Advantages of Fiber Optic Cables?

Other advantage of using fiber optic cable is the data loss while transferring is very low. Since when the data is transferred up to the long distance the chances of the loss of the data is really less in the transfer. Since the data is transferred over it is then it will actually get really less attenuation while transferring. Also it is the space saver. Since the capacity of fiber optic cable to transfer the data at a time is really big. It can carry large amount of data in single electrical cable.

Re: What Are the Advantages of Fiber Optic Cables?

No one pointed out that there is also other advantage of using the fiber optic cable which is that there is no effect on it if it comes in the contact to electrical interference. Many of the other cables cause the problem if it comes in the electrical interference. But fiber optic cable is not getting affected by this. So this cable can transfer data from the regions which have the high voltage zone. So when the fiber optic cable transfers the data from the region which has the large lightning there is no loss in data. Also the fiber optic cable doesn’t require the electricity in it so it cannot cause any fire hazards while transferring the data.

Re: What Are the Advantages of Fiber Optic Cables?

All the advantages makes the fiber optic cable one of the best data transferring medium. other advantage of using the fiber optic cable is that the single never gets degraded in the data transfer for example in the copper wire or in other medium at the certain range the single straight will be reduced and to get it again there is necessary of using booster in between . But in the fiber optic cable signal never gets degraded in between.

Re: What Are the Advantages of Fiber Optic Cables?

The other advantage of using fiber optic cable is that it passes light signals through the cable so the advantage of this is that one light single do not get interfered between the other light signal passing through that itself in same cable. So if the data is actually coming for the TV you will get clear images and video on your TV.

It doesn’t use high voltage transmitter like copper wire uses. It requires less power and required lower power transmitter for transferring data.

Re: What Are the Advantages of Fiber Optic Cables?

Yes most important advantage of using the fiber optic cable is that it is flexible and uses the digital signal. Mainly this cable is used in the computer networking. Also this cable is used in the digital cameras for below propose. Mainly in the medical and mechanical field. In medical field it is used in the endoscopes , bronchoscopes and in mechanical imaging it is use in the space shuttles ,airplanes ,rockets actually used for mechanical weld in engines of those.

With advantages it also has the disadvantages. It is not good for transmitting the data which is limited. Also the switches used in the system are complex and need to handle carefully. The system has the blowers and exhaust system so dust one in need to be cleared so it doesn’t exceed the temperature limit.

Re: What Are the Advantages of Fiber Optic Cables?

Yes fiber optic cable has many advantages but also has some of the disadvantages which do not have to ignore. The cost is really high. Since it has the switch system which has the higher cost. You must know that the switch is expensive as compare to the bridge used in the network. We can use only switches for fiber optic cable. Also the installation of it is complex and need the advance skills ,tools and techniques. Also temperature is the one factor. The temperature need to be below the 45 degree and not to exceed it.
