Avast detecting Html files a virus.

My Avast antivirus is malfunctioning since past 2 days. It is detecting almost any html file as a virus. For instance , facebook., HTML : Redir. This site, just now, it has popped up HTML : Script Inf. I recently run a quick scan and comes out with a result of 18000 infected file, that’s all are html or html with error mainly “Html Script Inf”. I am not getting the what this problem is all about, I think that this is because of the update of virus definition , which is creating this problem, it started from that time when the last time I had saw the definition update. Now Avast is going on repairing the infected files, but the problem is keep on increasing, So any suggestion for me whether it is safe to let avast do his work or should I shut down the resident shield until the definition got fixed? I am hoping for valid solution as soon as possible . thanks in advance.

If you are in middle of the important work, for now here is only one solution that go to right bottom task bar and right click on it and so it will display to shut the Avast various shield so try to disable the web or network shield for temporary till you don’t complete with your or if still even after disabling web shield facing the same problem, so go again to right bottom icon of Avast and Shut down the Avast for short-term. And after that tell Avast people deal and comes out with the permanent solution to this problem. but meanwhile prevent to go on untrusted sites. hope this will help you out for now.

Here you can go with uninstalling Avast antivirus once , if you don’t able to uninstall than download avast uninstaller from internet which easily available and free too. Now proceed with Uninstalling the Avast and once it done . Restart your system and Install your Avast once again and update your program and definition properly without and inference. And scan the whole system in boot scan, Problem may get solved by this. hope this information will help you out.

Priory You have to uninstall any other Antivirus , if you have installed any other than Avast, than after done with that, uninstall Avast in proper way ( make sure that no other program is running while the process ), than reboot the system, and Install Avast again but here Not with Standard installation instead with custom installation and skip the inclusion of Web shield and network shield in Avast but after that you have to stop browsing the untrusted sites which can harm your system with viruses. And further after sorting out this problem You can reinstall the whole shield Of avast. this might help you to operate and go through daily routing work.

Yeah most of the Avast user getting the same problem, and it is because of the recently update 110411-1 contained a error that showing the virus free site also as infected. In Fact all sites with a script in a certain format were detected a infected by Avast. first whoever are existing and suffering from the same problem or error should update there Avast definition to latest version i.e., by right clicking the avast task bar icon and select Update both program and virus. And run a scan After that, as Avast hq had solved out this problem and is there in the current definition so u just have to update your virus and program definition to the latest version manually.
