How to set Network Discovery in Windows 7

I cannot communicate through anything on my network apart from the internet. All extra computers are successively running windows XP and work very well. My laptop is operation with Windows 7 and won't work through any of my network procedure. I have frequently gone within network and sharing middle highly developed settings and altered network discovery in the direction of on then check it a small number of seconds afterward and it is off. I contain McAfee virus security and have made sure the settings here. All the devices illustrate up there and the whole thing seems on the way to be set right. The network job for about 2 weeks behind I find the PC all be it not well except frequently a restart would attach the trouble. But at the present not anything. Any Ideas?

You should not immobilize the Windows Firewall except you have another firewall enabled. Turning off Windows Firewall, the computer (and possibly your network) susceptible to damage from worms or hackers. Open the Windows Firewall through clicking the Start button and then go to Control Panel click on Security and then on Windows Firewall. Click on Windows Firewall or off. If you are provoked for an administrator code word or verification, type the code word or give verification after this click on off and then click OK.

Troubleshoot the connection can be complicated because the possible causes are many. First, try to do the following:
    • To open Network Diagnostics, click the right mouse button, the network icon in the notification area, and then click Diagnose and Repair also make sure all cables are connected.
    • If you are trying to connect to another computer, verify that this is turned on and enabled on the network sharing files and printers.
    • If your PC has a wireless network adapter, Windows automatically notice wireless networks reach. If Windows did not detect a network that believes it is in range, open Help and Support Center and search for "solving problems related to the detection of wireless networks."

I think there might be some fault in the connection setting so I would like to suggest you to check out the setting. For that you need unlock Network Connections from start and then go to Control Panel from there go to Network and Internet and then in the Network and Sharing Center click on Manage network connections. After doing the entire thing now right click on the connection and click Properties. If you are encouraged for an administrator code word or verification, type the code word or supply verification.
