How to share a Windows 7 Printer with MAC OSX 10.4

Hello,I am having a trouble by means of my shared printer from my windows 7 machine to my macbook pro. At what time I try to add the printer, not anything shows up, as well as I have no thought what to do to make it work. I have disabled Firewalls on both machines. Both Internet Protocol addresses are on the same subnet. Any suggestions? I got it to share to my windows XP machine, except not my Macs. Thanks in advance!

I will recommend you to share it by means SMB/CIFS. To share your printer through Windows users by using SMB/CIFS:
    1. In Print and Fax preferences, click on Sharing.
    2. Choose the "Share these printers with other computers" checkbox, as well as after that select the printers you desire to share.
    3. Click Show All, click Sharing, as well as after that click Services.
    4. Choose the Windows Sharing checkbox.

It is foolish, however I establish a solution! Printer name in windows be supposed to hold just one word similar to: "HPLaserJet3325" and not "HP LaserJet 3325", there should be no spaces between words in a name and if there are spaces in the name of a shared printer it will never work!Changing the name functioned for me with LPD protocol.

Thanks for your valuable suggestion however it is not the Apple OSX part I am having problem with.It is WINDOWS 7. I did not have troubles in the release applicant - other than I do not bear in mind all of this "HOMESHARE" things as well as things seemed to work a lot simpler. So do I make use of Homeshare by means of MAC or not? I think Homeshare works only by means of other Windows 7 machines.Do I share with everybody? I have attempted shutting off the firewalls - no assist (I cannot yet share a folder). Thanks

Re: How to share a Windows 7 Printer with MAC OSX 10.4

Using your commands above, I am able to add a printer, as well as even acquire a choice to select duplex printing. On the other hand, at what time I print, the Macbook Pro show "copying file", after that the job vanish, and the printer go to a "pause" condition.I have also attempted the Vista approach where I have added the printer on the Macbook pro, as well as chose Advanced->Windows and used smb://<Windows7Name/printername. But it still return the drror. The printing was functioning flawlessly under Vista Ultimate 32 bit.Any other proposal?
