    Advantages of IPV6

Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) is used as a well specialized Internet protocol. As far as my point of view IPv4 is a well-designed protocol and it is working quite well for what it is meant I have never heard disadvantages of IPV4. I want to know about IPV6 as its new version of Internet Protocol it might have some advantages of previous one. If you are aware about the advantages of IPV6 reply me with comparison of IPV4 and IPV6. And regarding its advanced features other than previous one.

    Re: Advantages of IPV6

Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) is termed as the next creation Internet protocol standard. Current Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) is used as a standard Internet protocol. IPv4 is a well-designed protocol and working properly but lacks certain techniques to be used in the fast-growth Internet world it as to be changed as per the situation.
Comparison of IPv6 over IPv4 are given below:
    1. As compared to IVP4 it has Larger Address Space
    2. It has better header format as compared to IPv4.
    3. IPv6 has been designed in a way that a protocol can be extended simply to meet up the requirements of new upcoming technologies.
    4. IPv6 provides better resource allocation support than IPv4.
    5. It is more secure as compared to IPv4.

    Re: Advantages of IPV6

You are aware about the current speed of world it is running out of IP address. The current version of the Internet Protocol that is IPv4 is only relies on only one of its kind addresses for each device that connects to a network for other connection you have to go with other address. Whereas as per as Internet is concerned, public IP addresses that allow all devices to transfer and receive the data directly with one another over the worldwide network are increasing threat day by day. As more and more devices come online in the upcoming era, IPv4 will run out of ability to hold our communication requirements. Thus, IPv6 was introduced and has gradually undergone trying and employment in a variety of international places.
Advantages of IPv6 over IPv4 are
    1. Better space for addressing: The primary need was to increase the addressing space capacity. IPv6 addresses are 128 bits to IPv4's 32-bit addresses. This is the one of the significant feature, improvement between the dissimilar versions and provides for a drastically increase address space. And they also increased couple of tricks and shortcuts to organization these addresses as well. That are a group of four zeros can be left out of an address by just sorting out colons in place. The network tools mechanically detect the sorted parts and internally identify the shortened address. However they permit only one double colon, as presence of more than one might make it hard to identify that which group was lost.
    2. It serves better security as compared to IPv4: Other major advantage is the improvement in security. IPsec, the time-allotted by standard for secure IP interactions by encrypting or by providing access to all IP packets at the network layer, is an basic part of the base protocol matching set in IPv6. IPsec is extra flexible than other encryption standards such as Transport Layer Security and Secure Sockets Layer because it works at the network layer and thus is capable to protect both TCP and UDP-based protocols.

    Re: Advantages of IPV6

As above my both friends have mentioned this are the most striking features in the IPv6 but there are many more advantages that has made IPv6 more better and competitor with the new generation of Internet two of them are:
    • The Property of Auto configuration: IPv6 has made the network capable of plug and play i.e. during the time of a newly set up system it allow them to integrates into the (local) network automatically without any manually configuration. Newly connected user could be automatically allowed to derive its own address from the information made offered by the nearby routers, with the help of a protocol known as the neighbor discovery (ND) protocol. This technique does not call for any intrusion on the administrator's part and there is no requirement to keep a central server for address allocation—an extra benefit over IPv4, where routine address allocation needs a DHCP server.
    • It gives Mobility to users: IPv6 allows having possible to allocate multiple addresses to one network edge simultaneously. This feature provide the users to have access to several networks simply, you can compare this feature with the mobility features provided by cell phones.
