I newly upgraded a Windows 2000 PC with a Gigabyte GA-8PE800L motherboard to Windows XP Pro. We have a Raid array (FastTrak TX2) and are making the use of an onboard network adapter (Marvell 1207F). The internet and network connection work excellent, on the other hand there is no icon for local area connection in Network Connections, and there is also no 1394 connection. The Device manager displays that the device is working properly, and the driver is an up-to-date version. I have endeavored the fixes listed on Microsoft's site about this quandary to no benefit. The user needs to be able to manage its own network connection and is unable or reluctantly to use the Netsh command line interface. I am expecting some help from your side.
