    OneCare Error Number 0x0C600C03

Hi, one of my friend who is using Windows Vista is having some problem with Windows Live Onecare. We had downloaded One Care Safety Scanner on his system, installed properly but when we are trying to run the scanner, it stops and pop up an error message stating "Error number 0x0C600C03".

Well, as we both are new to this application, i dont have any idea about this error. is there any one who can helpout for the same ? Thanks in advance.

This problem is really one of the annoying ones. There is not a single cause or solution for this error. Some says that it can be fixed by substituting the ActiveX control, some says it can be fixed by back-leveling Flash on your Vista computers. I haven’t faced this problem yet, fortunately, hence I had not tried out these steps. Anyways, I’ll suggest you to go with the same and follow the tweaks. Hope anyone of these will work for you. DO reply the results.

I am aware of this error code as i faced it long back. Fortunately i was able to fix it but i dont know what was the exact fix because i tried 3 to 4 solutions and after restarting i saw that it was no more there. Anyways, here is what i tried. hope this will help you. i just ran the Microsoft Installer clean-up, I tried SAFE mode with Networking, and Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. Go ahead with all these 3 and once you are sorted than please reply here with the result.

If you have had any Antivirus installed on your system , please uninstall the same, reboot the machine and than try to run Onecare Scanner. If it works fine than complete your process and once done, you can install back the antivirus. But as per the antivirus program, i'll suggest you to install Microsoft Security Essentials. It is the best of all windows system and will won't conflict with Windows Live OneCare.
