Mounted folders disappear in shared folder after navigating to them

I have a question about file sharing. In my system I am sharing two folders on my external hard drive on the network and put two of them under a same local network in my house. I had shared folder as a network drive which shows in My Computer. Strangely, however, the shares folder disappear repeatedly. I am not able to get the reason behind this how does the share folder disappears. What should I do here.

Click on Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall > Change Settings and then click on Exceptions. In that tick on Network discovery and share and check File and Printer Sharing. Then restart your system and and then look back again. It will work fine. This might be due to firewall issue. If you are using any third party security software then disable the same and check back again.

That right the issue might looks with USBDLM. As a Windows service under Windows is USBDLM regardless of the rights of the logged on user. Here are some information what this service can do. It can resolve conflicts with network and Subst drives can be where no configuration is necessary. For all new USB disk, a list of standard letters are supported by this service. So might due to this your network drivers disappears.

Do you disconnect your drive and then connection them back again. Sometime due to frequent disconnection the driver letter goes off automatically. If you had mapped the drive then you must let it connected to your system. Talking about the USBDLM this tools runs invisibly. You can cannot directly configure this in Windows. Try to update your Ethernet drivers first.

The problem occurs in Windows Explorer when the system tried to obtain information on some files and the same is not accessible. For that the reason can be a slow connection. For that first check that your router is compatible with your operating system. the other one is that you can try disabling the autotunning function. For that run the following command Netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled and Netsh interface tcp show global in cmd.

Here are some more setting that might help you out. First you will need to turn off RDC feature. This cause issue many times. The other is remove the IPv6 connection if the same is not needed. You also need to clear the DNS cache in regular interval of time. That can be done by passing the ipconfig /flushdns from cmd. If you have any additional wireless adapter in your system then just disable them.
