    Hello,
Then begin to add in your smb.conf setting the public record
    Code:
    directory mask = 0700
    guest ok = yes
The name of the machine: Is there more domain controller in the network
address to which your network. Because position xp sometimes has to ping the linux mail. What's your error when you try to attach your post tries to reach your office to the field and look in the logs "/ var / log / samba / or / var / log / syslog".

Samba Domain Controller with debian 5

    Hello,
I do have a similar kind of problem. I tried to manage things but not quite successful. I made the changes, I restarted the samba service I redid a few attempts. There is no other domain controller running on the network and the machines ping each other well. So, if you have any ideas regarding this then please let me know. Also, if you know what exactly should be the configuration of the samba server then please tell me.

    Hello,
    To start, you can install
    Code:
    "sysv-rc-conf"
it enables you to change what starts each run-level. For what is the connection to your field, you really have to add samba users with the command smbpasswd or pdbedit? Just try this and see what is the result of your samba server. If it does not run then post the error that you are getting.

    Samba Domain Controller on Debian

    Hello,
I agree with the above post. I think you're trying to reach a position with another domain user as the admin samba declare in checks that have much say in the admin samba. Or I see that you do not use scripts, for example, who adds that the machine automatically. Have you added by hand to your samba? If you have not done this then please do it.
