How to setup vpn between client and Windows 7

I have recently upgraded my computer to Windows 7 from XP. I want to create a VPN between this PC and a client can have any operating system. So my moto is to have vpn from Windows 7 computer to any client computer irrespective of the OS he is running. I would prefer if it is possible with the VPN client built into Windows 7 with out any third party software. Is this possible? Can you recommend how to do so?

OpenVPN client is one of the best service I have seen which help you to setup VPN between any computers. It can run on Windows 7 also. OpenVPN is a web-scale networking platform enabling the next wave of VPN services.

    It features:

    - Supports scalable and secure VPN services across Internet
    - Works with existing enterprise applications
    - Enables real-time interactive collaboration applications
    - Remote and secure access to your network and application resources
    - Secure and scalable Site-to-Site VPN
    - Wireless security

    • Then select "Network and Share Center". Click on "Set up a new connection or network" link.

I have some suggestions for VPN connection just to help you. If you are find Windows 7 running on the client machine then connect it to the network using router, bypass it and then connect directly to check if it works. If you have some kind of firewall or anti-virus software running on the computer then then remove it before setting up the connection.
