I am not sure about some of the tricks and I thought, it can help you.Try out the Release and renew command after specific time segment.

But after doing this you have to do some physical changes such as the power down and disconnect the cable from your modem and wait for few minutes and then reattached all the connectivity and I think, would do it for you.

Why you are not going for hardware changes, I will suggest you for an option can be helpful for you to complete your practice.

You can change the MAC address of your router? I mean changing the MAC address of your routers WAN port, since you don't have a router that would not basically. You could always swap and/or add a another network card.

Well, I used the same procedure and was successful and if you are feeling comfortable to use this.

I always use the procedure :

    • Start>run>ipconfig, find out your current IP address.
    • Then after issue ipconfig /release command.
    • Now move to Start=>control panel=> network connections.
    • make a right click on LAN connection and go to properties.
    • Double click on internet protocol, click use the following IP address type in 10.10.10.100.
    • Scroll down to subnet mask and it will fill it in automatically.
    • Click on OK two times then go back to internet protocol properties and click on obtain an ip address automatically.

Force IP change with Comcast cable

    Hello dude,

    Try this one :

    Open command prompt and type:

    Code:
    C:\> ipconfig /release all
    C:\> Exit
Just for giggles, You need not to assign an RFC 1918 IP address (it could be from 10.0.0.0/255.0.0.0, 172.16.0.0/255.240.0.0,192.168.0.0/255.255.0.0). Whatever that will take at least as long as configuring an RFC 1918 IP address instead of actually doing that. When you finished then come on your computer and issue the following :

    Code:
    ipconfig /renew -all
